How to ask them?AnswersWoodstar Field Diary 1.0GeneralWhy is the program called "Woodstar"?There is a very nice little bird, named "woodstar" (Calliphlox). That bird is the talisman of the program. That's all we can say about it... Whom is the program developed for?The program is developed for anyone who explores the nature and keeps records of sightings. The program enables you to save all the records - as well as attached files and notes - in just one place. InstallationHow to install the program?Run the "setup.exe" file and answer a few simple questions. Working with the programHow should I start?First try to use one of the already really existing diaries. For this purpose it's necessary to create a new diary as well as locations, routes, areas and points where the sightings are performed. Then you can create entries. You add them into the diary and enter the links to the created locations etc. Finally you add objects - animal units, found nests etc - into entries. The program seems to be lacking some functions. What can I do?Write to our address and in the next releases we shall try to take your suggestions into consideration. If changes will be within one version you can get the update free. There are "Backup parameters" in the Settings. What is it?The backup copying is the process of creating a copy of the database you work with. As a result you get the file with extension "fbk". Save it in some good place. If your database gets lost or harmed you can always recover your data. How to set up the backup parameters?The frequency of backup copying depends on how often you chang and add the data. If you work with the program every day it is good practice to create the backup copy every day too. How to protect the program by password?Open the Tools menu then Settings. Set up the radio button "Launch only upon entering the password" and twice enter the password in the fields. During the next launch you will be asked for the password. I set up the password and then I forgot it. What should I do?Write to our address. Don't forget to write the registration number otherwise we can't help you.
